What’s the Best Time to Post on Facebook and Instagram?

When you post on Facebook and Instagram you want to make sure you take advantage of “peak” times – when most of your followers will be checking their feeds.

So, how do you determine the best time to post on Facebook and Instagram?

That answer could actually be different for everyone, depending on your ideal client, your location in the world, etc.

In order to find your answer, you need to take some time to review your Facebook and Instagram insights.

Have you looked at them before?

On Facebook:

Go to your Facebook Page’s Home Page and select “Insights” at the top of the page:

Once you get into your Insights, select “Posts” on the left:

To summarize:  Using our home decor boutique page as an example, our followers are on Facebook consistently throughout the week, but what’s informative are the times.  I tend to post in the morning – around 7 am before it starts to peak.  And then if I post in the evening, I usually do that around 7 pm – again before the evening peak which is around 8-9 pm.

On Instagram:

Select the “Insights” icon at the top of your home page on Instagram:

Then scroll down to “Followers” and select “See More”.  You’ll see stats by Hours and by Days:

To summarize:  The “days” and “hours” results are the same as Facebook, this makes it easy for scheduling and planning!

You may already know the best hours and days for you to post on your social media accounts, if so then be sure to take it a step further and take a look at the rest of the analytical data available to you.  If you didn’t know, I hope this helps you with future posting.
